Why the kits must be indexed?
I leave them in RGB, and in game they look excellent.

It's not for the looks it's for performance, indexed textures have less chance of crashing the game and other errors, they are also lighter (file size) and so avoid performance compromises. :22:

Every texture in the game is originally indexed (not only kits, everything else too).
