I don't think the 10 needed to be retired, Alex said himself he wanted the #10 to stay available to people would keep dreaming about achieving that. He didn't had in mind Tevez receiving that in a marketing basis, it's a shame and after Alex retired it was said (by the club) that next player to wear it would be a player formed at the club (like Marchisio, Giovinco..).
And that was an amazing plan, I couldn't agree more, but then out of nowhere they did that shameful disgrace of a decision giving a player that had never (and will never) done ANYTHING for the club, not even played one single match. And for him to accept that knowing what the #10 represents in football and at Juve just tells me everything I need to know about this 'man'.
